I guess the Add workaround for people not building with clean source commit misses the possibility of re-releases @luzifer.

@GFdevelop for content of the package please refer to the original repository as this is only the build packaging the fonts for the system. For your question you might want to open an issue there.

Some icons are very small, is there any way or alternative to get icons bigger than these? For example ⬆ and ⬇

The install script is not needed anymore. Rebuilding the font cache is now done by pacman hooks.

@luzifer Thanks for answering, and sorry for assuming that something was wrong in the PKGBUILD. I’ve just successfully built the package now, after cleaning its repository cache.

@andre_korol looks good to me. Build succeeds in a clean build-environment. Are you building the update in the same folder as you did before and have still some / all .ttf files lying around? In that case you need to remove them in before as the files are having the same name before and after the update.

DejaVu Sans Mono в Emacs

Как установить шрифт в Emacs 21.4.1 на DejaVu Sans Mono? А то те что показываются по Ctrl+left click все как-то не очень, по сравнению с DejaVu Sans Mono.

Никак. Ну можно запустить консольный ’emacs -nw’ в терминале, который поддерживает DejaVu Sans Mono. (Например, uxterm -fa mono -fs 14).

Ну и что? В генте 23-й емакс (app-editors/emacs-cvs) отлично работает (как раз с дежавю санс моно).

Нет, ну в принципе сделать это можно, но без сглаживания, *хинтинга и пр. наворотов, так как никакой поддержки Xft в Emacs 21.4 нет. Например, у тебя есть /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-dejavu.

Надо сгенерировать fonts.scale и fonts.dir. Это делается при помощи mkfontdir и mkfontscale с указанием пути к фонтам:

Ну а далее надо вписать этот путь в /etc/X11/xorg.conf либо, если используется xfs, в параметр catalogue= в /etc/X11/fs/config. Далее перезапустить демон xfs (если используется он) и перезапустить иксы. Проверить наличие паттернов этих шрифтов можно xlsfonts. А далее сконфигурячить Emacs либо через

/.Xresources, например: Emacs.font: «-misc-dejavu sans mono-medium-r-normal—12-*-*-*-*-*-*-*» с последующим запуском xrdb

/.Xresources. Либо же через customize-face установить.

[SOLVED] Can’t get DejaVu Sans Mono to work with urxvt

I’m trying to use DejaVu Sans Mono (through the ttf-dejavu package) with rxvt-unicode — specifically rxvt-unicode-patched from AUR. When I run urxvt I simply get the following error:

And here’s my .xinitrc:

Any help on this issue would be much appreciated. Let me know if there’s any other information which might be useful.

This works for me;
urxvt*font: xft:DejaVu Sans Mono:size=28

A bit different.

P.s., this part shouldn’t be necessary:

It repopulates the font database each time you start x, which is quite a heavy operation.

The name without spaces.

Your Xdefaults config seems OK and it should work. You can clean your xinitrc as litemotiv pointed out because you don’t need to rebuild your font db before every X session. However, if you use ‘Monospace’ instead of the font name, be sure you have a proper alias in your fontconfig directory, i.e. your system knows which font to use as Monospace; you can check it by issuing

The problem you’re experiencing in most cases means that the application cannot read font parameters properly. To get rid of it, you may clean your font cache (/var/cache/fontconfig, $HOME/.fontconfig) and re-run (as user)

After restarting your X environment, things would probably work as expected.

DejaVu fonts 2.37 (c)2004-2016 DejaVu fonts team

The DejaVu fonts are a font family based upon Bitstream Vera v1.10. Its purpose is to provide a wider range of characters while maintaining the original look-and-feel.
