A while ago, I uninstalled intel extreme utility because it would not update so I uninstalled it and now, I cannot reinstall it. When I try to download XTU from intel and run it I get this error immediately after startup:
«One or more issues caused the setup to fail. Please fix the issues and retry the set up. For more information see the log file.
Another flavor of the XTU application of a same of higher version is already installed. Uninstall the following from Add/Remove Programs: Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility»
I tried uninstalling from Add/Remove but it is giving me the error:
«Windows cannot find «C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\<96. 32a1>\XTUUISetup.exe». Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again»
This is the log of the first error message:

A bit of an update: I’ve managed to «completely» uninstall XTU from Add/Remove by uninstalling using the control panel. However, the error code still persists when running the XTU setup.

Hi, I have a problem with installation of SSMS.
I have run instalation of SSMS while I started to install Chef Client 12.22.5 and it shot down the SSMS installer.
After that the setup is blocked and I am unable to continue or uninstall SSMS. SSMS is not listed in programs.
I have registry entry SSMSInstallRoot at
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio\18
and some file structure at C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 18
But don’t know if its complete.
Any idea how to get rid of it? Thx

Question
Hello,I have encountered an issue with this version of Visual C++
It started when I tried to install a game from Origin (Titanfall2)
It seems like the intaller for this package does not work and can not by any means install it.
I have tried everything I have seen on the forums.
Here is more information on what I did: After the first time it failed it appeared in the uninstall programs panel but could not be installed or repaired in anyway. I managed the find the location of the files to delete and it disappeared from the uninstall control panel but it did not change a thing. I tried to download the package myself from the Windows download center, still get the same error.
And yes I have restarted the computer multiple times
Thank you in advance for the help.

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
Error 0x8007015e is defined «No action was taken as a system reboot is required.»
Please try with following steps to troubleshoot:
1. Check Windows update and make all patches to the latest.
2. Run Fix it tool to fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed.
3. Uninstall the Visual C++ 2012 from Control Panel>Programs and Features.
4. Reboot your machine.

Thanks for your answer.
However even with the Fix It tool I am unable to uninstall the program.
For info the full names in the tool are:
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 x64 Minimum Runtime — 11.0.61030
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 x64 Additional Runtime — 11.0.61030
Here is the troubleshooting report:
As for uninstalling though the uninstall feature in the control panel, it does not appear there so no way to uninstall it from there.
Thank you for your update.
If you have trouble about uninstall even with the fix it tool. You could use the tool msiinv:

Great tool you gave me, I managed to run it fine and delete what was remaining of VC++ 2012 x64.
Unfortunately still is a no go for the install even though Microsoft fix it does not list it anymore in the programs list (so it must be definetly gone). I even uninstalled VC 2012 x86 to see if it would affect anything but no luck.
The installer still give me the same error as the beginning, find the log below as maybe it tells something different ?
Thank you for your update.
I checked your log, and find the following error:
Could not load or read state file: C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\
This is usually caused by the installer is corrupted, which means that your game setup files are missing or broken. The root cause is not about your machine visual C++ items, but the game installer integrity.
You’d better consult with the game developer author from Origin (Titanfall2), to verify and make sure the installer is complete, then continue the setup process.
